Hoghton Tower Wedding Photography: the stunning wedding of Steven & Sophia’s it has to be said had more than a smattering of history attached to it. To start with, the service …… was held at the beautiful Parish Church of St. Mary in Penwortham, which dates back to the c14 and then it was on to the magnificent Hoghton Tower nr. Preston which actually dates back to the c12. Hoghton Tower is especially famous for when King James I stayed and knighted a loin of beef (1617) and also, Shakespeare stopped over too (1580). (Look at me, not only creative but educational too!) Furthermore and to add to the history theme, my first image of Sophia’s bouquet is on a chair that her Mum used to use as a child and whilst we’re at it, Steven is a history teacher too! I had to include a photograph of the magnificent banquet hall and also one of the wedding cake with the actual sword that was used by King James I and which Steven & Sophia used to cut the cake. Anyway, less of the history and do hope that you all like my small selection of images here of a wonderful couple on their simply glorious day. Thank you to you both for giving me the opportunity to capture your day at this incredible venue. Finally, I must just mention Lucy at Hoghton Tower who looked after myself and Rho wonderfully and also to the caterers, Rowley’s (namely, Oscar) who provided simply amazing food and possibly the best sweet I’ve ever eaten – see photo below!
